Over at Right Where You Are Sitting now, site honcho Ken Eakins admits that Crowley courted controversy within his lifetime, but says that Crowley made important contributions to occultism.
"What I can’t live with are abusive tracky-bottom-wearing oddballs who do abhorrent acts in his name, muddying his already delicate reputation, and making it more stigmatising for us poor wand-wavers," Eakins says, pointing to news coverage of the leader of a Satanic sex cult, found guilty of rape and child abuse.
