Phillip K. Dick's Man in the High Castle wasn't a smash hit at first. (I re-read it a couple of years ago and was struck anew at how great it is.) Via Roman Tsivkin on Twitter. I think it's his fault, too, that I saw this horrible Tweet.

David Kaiser (MIT Prof who wrote _How The Hippies Saved Physics_, which cites RAW and has a lot on figures mentioned here recently, such as Nick Herbert and Saul-Paul Sirag), has contributed and edited a series of essays in a recent book:
_Groovy Science: Knowledge, Innovation, and American Counterculture_
I have not been able to get my hands on it yet. Someone wrote an piece on Leary's SMi2LE in it. Should be good.
Tom--Will you be reviewing Tyler Cowen's book? I'm intrigued, although not enough to invest the time and cash for a full read. I'm interested in a response to his non-bullet points.
@chas, I'm sure I'll read the book and likely write about it. I'll order it in advance when the Kindle becomes available.
@michael, Thanks for the book tip!
Jack Sarfatti has a very interesting review of Groovy Science on Amazon which corrects some statements in the book regarding Leary' S.M.I2.E. philosophy.
Dustin--thanks for the heads-up on the Sarfatti review--it offers a valuable gloss on the value of the book.
