The reason Columbia UP is “curtailing” their line of Russian literary translations is that a substantial portion of the funding for that project came from the Russian government, and specifically the propaganda arm of the government. Alternate means of funding must be obtained to maintain the project at its current level; barring that, their plans must by necessity be scaled back.
