David Jay Brown has long been one of my favorite interviewers, because he so obviously immerses himself in his subject's books and ideas and biography beforehand. Often someone will say, "Wow you really did your homework!" or something like that. He also asks big-time Wiggy Qs and is always ready to roll from the answers with a follow-up if he thinks he needs to. He's just great at what he does, maybe because he's the rare conscientious interviewer.
This interview shows he's also a wonderful talker, very articulate and interesting. Great get, Gathers! Thanks!
